I have this feeling in my gut that tells me that the number of members will double, and double again faster than anyone will believe. I feel fortunate to be number 200! A year from now I will be able to bost that I got in before the flood gates opened. Now that I'm here...I'd better go figure out what the heck I'm doing.

That's incredible. Of the half dozen places I did food service management, the House of Four Hats dining hall was my favorite. Still have lot's of fond memories. Is it still a good place to eat? Back in 92 & 93 we were runner's up for the Hennesy Award.
Ahhhhh...the memories... but that was a long time ago.

Amazing how things work out ain't it? I was in Maryland too a few years back. Managed the military dining hall for the NSA at Fort Meade from 91-93. Not too bad a place, but too crowded for me. The wife loved it though, reminded her of Korea in a lot of ways.
Well, I do plan to keep writing, and God willing will some day be able to do it on a more full time basis. We see though. The next book will probably begin recording later in the spring and come out in late summer. At least that's the plan for now.

Jeremy thanks for the good word. What years were you at Ft. Rich?
Yes, I do live in the great state of Alaska and can't imagine living anywhere else for very long. Salt Jacket was actually based on the town I was born in.
I did serve in the military, USMC. Like many young guys I had visions of glory and an image of a 30 year career, retiring as a sergeant major, or maybe if I got selected for OCS as a colonel. Alas my reality was very short...two mashed ankles and torqued knees sent me home in less than a year in 1988. Ten years of repeated attempts to reenlist ended with nothing.
I did spend three years as a sergeant in the Alaska State Defense Force, 492nd Coastal Scouts. My unit's AO was the coast and islands around Whittier right after 9/11. I had the distinct of being named Alaska Soldier of the Year for the ASDF in 2003. Aaron Michaels in the book was based on that experience.
Anyway, glad you asked and glad you recognized the scenery in 65 Below.
