I'm a first time contributor, and I'm having trouble getting my ID3 tags in order.

Specifically, the "grouping" tag. Following the instructions in the manual, I used iTunes and set the grouping tag correctly. I uploaded to rapidshare. The grouping tag is gone. I tried it twice, same result.

I tried opening the tags with Professional Tag Editor. Both the before-and-after files have a "user-text" described as "Grouping" (probably the residue of my effort to set the Grouping tag in Audacity by adding it manually), but this is not recognized as a "Grouping" tag in the downloaded file. I don't know any editor but iTunes that has a standard handling of the Grouping tag, and I'm wondering if iTunes is "remembering" what the tag should be without, actually, changing the file.

The attached file is the "before" upload file.

I downloaded the mp3. Then I found it in my itunes. Then I highlighted it (you know, made the line blue). The I hit 'command' and 'I" (I'm on mac) for 'get information'. It then displays the mp3 info. Then I select the column 'info'. The 3rd line down, 'artist' and 5th lines 'grouping' are blank. You should enter in these lines your name, and 'podiobooks.com'. You can put your name in 'composer' if you like, I do. then select 'OK". This window will close. Re-open with 'command' + "I" and double check. It should all be there, and that always works for me. I used USENDIT to get it to Evo the first time. Best of luck, and let us know if it still does not work.

Thanks, Craig. The problem is, they aren't blank on my file. When I open the file, in iTunes, there it is, "grouping: podiobooks.com." But when I upload it, it's gone. So now it's done it both at Rapidshare and on this message board. That says to me the problem is likely with iTunes, it being the software that sees it before but not after.

Is there an "iTunes lite" that plays and views files, but doesn't edit? It identifies itself as 9.0.1.8. Is there any other software that uses the grouping tag?

Has anyone else had a problem like this?

Thanks, Craig, I figured it out. I don't know what was wrong, but I deleted the grouping tag in my file, and then added it back in, and now it is showing up in the download. So I'm all set, so long as nothing else weird happens.
